Fine Art and Beautiful Things

Having chosen printmaking as my first love, I have moved through different mediums as demands on my time have...changed. As a younger person I was able to work for hours in the studio,  confident that a "second wind" would kick in after dinner, and a glass or two of wine.

As my life changed, the long hours in the studio disappeared with different demands on my time.  Those workdays, and nights changed to short stolen moments in the studio.  I had my last gallery show when my second child was six months old.

I found other mediums that were not as time-consuming as etching.   I learned to use acrylic paint in college, and returned to painting.  I did metalwork and jewelry design to explore a more tactile medium.  I painted furniture when I felt the need for more functionality. I also enjoyed the homely usefulness of... things.

Now that there is more time to be again in the studio, I am anticipating  inspiration from new mediums, foreign travel, study and...life!

So here they are...hope it was worth the wait!   Enjoy.
